Siyum Tractate Makkos
There is a custom to conclude the study of a Talmudic tractate throughout the Nine Days of mourning for the Destruction of the Temple.
Tractate Makkos discusses the laws of perjured witnesses, cities of refuge, and the laws of corporal punishment administered by the courts.
It concludes with a story of the sages crying after witnessing tragedy, but Rabbi Akiva laughing instead.
